Separate grill from convection before buying. A 3-in-1 label alone does not tell you which cooking functions are included.

What the Toshiba actually offers

Toshiba describes the MW3-AG20PE as a microwave with grill. The Saudi offer lists Microwave, Grill and Combined modes. Combined pairs microwave and grill; it is not convection.

We therefore do not recommend it for cakes or pizza as a convection oven. Similarly, the LG MH6535GDS grill and Smart Inverter description does not establish convection.

Choose for the way you cook

For leftovers and defrosting, compare the Nikai and Clikon solo models. If you will use a grill, compare Toshiba and LG by their dated prices, listed capacity and controls. Liters do not establish dish fit: check cavity and turntable dimensions and the manual’s permitted cookware for each mode.

Name two meals for which you would use the grill. If you cannot identify a regular use, the number of modes is a weak reason to pay more. If baking is the goal, require an explicitly documented convection model instead of inferring it from a label.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between solo and grill?

Solo uses microwave energy for reheating, defrosting and cooking. A grill adds a heating element for browning; that is a different function, not proof of faster reheating.

Does 3-in-1 mean convection?

Not necessarily. For the Toshiba MW3-AG20PE, the modes are microwave, grill and combined microwave/grill. Combined mode is not a convection oven.

When should I pay extra for a grill?

When you want browning and expect to use that function. If you only reheat and defrost, compare solo models first.

Can the shortlisted Toshiba or LG replace a baking oven?

Our evidence does not establish convection in the MW3-AG20PE or MH6535GDS. For convection baking, require that function explicitly in the exact model manual.
